Weird Shifting 04 GT

Have a 04 Grand Prix GT2, all stock and this morning when driving home from work it started to like jerk every time the gear shifted or when I let off the gas, it still shifted thru every gear and pulled up hills and made it home, jst wasn't shifting smooth as normally. So I got home , shut the car off for 5 mins then drove it up the street and it wasn't doing it anymore. What should I think? Should I jst ignore it or should I take action , fluid is a bit dirty but I thought it would be a mount , trans or lower motor mount , but it threw me off when it stopped doing it after being shut off and on, sorry for the long story btw

pan drop and filter change isnt to hard to do if you want to go that way you need 7.4 qt and dont cheep out on filter cause when you do you get the cheap gasket with it. id check the fluid level and see if its burnt or not if smells like burnt toast change it.

Re-use the factory gasket if it's still in there.

I've seen where very dirty fluid will restrict flow through the filter enough to cause problems. Let it sit for a while, and the crud will drain back and the problem will temporarily go away. In this particular trans, the TC clutch came apart. Any codes?

Yeah it sounds like some sort of pressure control solenoid, I wouldn't be surprised if you're transmission is throwing a P1811 code.

If you do drop the trans pan, I would put in a trans-go-shift kit. I made the mistake of assuming just changing the fluid would solve the problem, a month later dropped it again and put the shift kit in, night and day difference to extend the life of the transmission.

I also put in a small trans cooler as well there are some other thoughts on extending the life of the transmission

Your transmission is overheating/taking to long to shift . The pcm sees this and puts out max line pressure. Both of my old transmissions did this.
you can change fluid and filter but it never helped my transmissions it actually made the one worse...
Like robin said what a lot of ppl do for a permanent bandaid fix is fluid and filter change and install the transgo shift kit while they are down their.
