Weird Radio/DIC Range Quesstion

Hey all,


I recently picked up a 2002 GTP. It's having some goofy issues with the Radio and the DIC.


Firstly, the radio. Intially it was intermittent. Now it's most of the time. The radio display is malfunctioning. It simply shows what appears to be 3 upside down F'S... Seems to work okay, but can't tell where I am based on the display.


Next, the DIC. The range is on the DIC does not match the fuel gauge. Not even close. You can reset, but it just bounces all over. After a fill up, it went to 350 miles range, then dropped to zero after I reset it, then it trickled up to about 220 and just stayed there. It seems to be quite erratic.


Both of these issues started about the same time, which makes me wonder if they are related.

The display on the stereo is quite common to crap out on guys. The DIC issue you are having sounds like it might be normal. The distance till empty amount is based on the DIC current MPG readout. So when you reset it, it starts all over again.
