Weird noise?

Ok on my way to school everything was fine, the after one class I had to drive to a different campus which is only about 1-2 miles away. And by the time I got there when ever I turn the wheel there is a loud hum. I'm assuming it has something to do with the power steering. Can this be caused by low power steering fluid? Or does this mean the pump is going bad?

Could be either or...did you check it?

Well have you checked the fluid?? It could be low...

If the fluid is fine then maybe it's your pump maybe it's the rack.

Might even be a bad wheel bearing. They typically make more noise with a load on the bearing.

Sorry guys, I'm in class at the moment so I couldn't check it yet but when I'm out I will check it before I move the car again. And as far as the wheel bearing goes would it still make that noise when I'm parked but turning the wheel while the engine is on? I turned it and it stayed humming when it's not straight.

Nope..bearings are only when moving.
