Weird issue/sound

So...I'm running into a very odd issue and i'm at wit's end to figure it out. Only mod to the car is a makeshift intake, plastic autozone tubing with a cone filter attached and a hole drilled for the sensor. Only work that has been done recently is the PCV valve was changed just because I was in Advance and couldn't remember the last time I changed it. We did try a new one just to make sure I hadn't gotten a faulty one.

The problem : still runs fine, no issues there. BUT it make a very odd semi screeching noise that cannot be isolated to anywhere in the engine bay, also there is the occasional 'chirping' sound.....

The odd part : The car is running, remove the oil filler cap A) there is a strong suction holding the cap on, B) the odd sound stops, and C) the motor runs much better.

My father and I checked around thinking it may be a vacuum leak or a vacuum line is plugged causing a vacuum in valve cover, we checked the majority of vacuum lines we could find/check including the brake booster line etc, no problems found.

Went by Advance Auto and O'reily's nobody had ever heard of an issue like this and was stumped.

I managed to grab a video, excuse the filthy engine bay and the fact I couldn't find the throttle body cables haha.

Uploading video, will be posted momentarily....

Anyone have any ideas?

edit : oh and it has 116,xxx....just had an oil change (was present before oil change)

that was going to be my next question.....what o-rings? I just went out there and checked.... Remove the cap/sensor adapter, one big orange o-ring on the inside of the engine mount side. Ridged orange seal on sensor.....only two rings/seals I see....am I missing one? also if it matters the ribbed orange seal on the sensor is not in the greatest shape....

Yes, you should have an o-ring on the PCV itself, then the larger one where the MAP housing snaps on top. Does yours have a spring in between the PCV and MAP housing? Think that's supposed to be there too.

You have a vac leak by not having that lower o-ring on, hence the suction at the oil fill cap and the noise. Its vacuum. The motor will run like crap until you fix that.

Had the same problem, went to advance and purchased the pcv kit 2 o rings pcv spring and the top which holds the sensor, installed it now no more noise and it only cost 22.00

Sorry to revive an old thread, just thought I would add some closure. I was missing the O-Ring on the PCV valve and that caused the issue.

Only took 2 years to figure that out?

Haha no, I just realized how much I rely on searching to solve my own problems, and I wanted to put an answer in here so if someone else comes looking for a similar problem they'll find an answer and not an open ended thread.

You sir get a star for the day. I wish more people thought to do that. Nothing pisses me off more than coming across a post of a problem I may have, but then the OP never said what the fix was!
