Weird Idle

last night i got home after driving it normally.. no wot runs or even gettin on it really.. pulled into the driveway put it in park and it started wanting to die.. rpms bounced from 500 all the way to 1800 or so than back down and did that several times... got in it this morning and drove about the same distance as the night before and it ran great.. no problems no anything. i don't understand.. it acted like it had a huge vacuum leak.. but those don't just fix themselves. WTF
 


Start it, unplug the MAF and see if the idle levels out. if so, bad MAF. If not, its obvious its something else then.
