weird hissing in dash...

when my a/c and all fans and everything are off i get this hissing sound in my dash... ive been hearing it since i bought my car which is in my sig. and cant figure out what it is! anyone know anything about this???:confused:
 


Do all of your heater controls work properly? For example: If you set the AC to blow all out the upper vents, does it blow out the floor and/or defroster outlets? What kind of noise does it make when you shut the car down? Does it stop immediately, or does it continue for a second or so?

I'm going to agree with Scimmia and say it's probably a vacuum leak at or near the vac port of your heater controls.
 
ill check all that stuff today. I know that the A/C wont blow cold, but when my mechanic turned it on with a scanner it did. How hard would it be to fix a vacuum leak like that?
 
Reviving an old thread here. I'm also having a weird hiss in the dash that sounds like a pissed off snake. It only happens when the AC is on, and it's not consistent. It randomly starts hissing, will get really loud and then fade to nothing. It does that every few minutes with no real pattern. AC seems to function totally fine too. Thoughts?
