Weird Electrical Issues

I'm have trouble with my 97 SE. My HUD works intermittently. I've got flashing zeros on my DIC and the trak off light blinks when I hit the accelerator. I know it's not the DIC, because I've replaced it with a known working DIC with the same results (yes, I'm sure they are 97 DICs). I've replaced all the fuses with new ones. Which component should I be checking first?
 


Bumping this up.. I'm no expert on the odd electrical things W's experience. Have seen a lot of peope suggest ignition switch on something like this, but I think there's a couple other things to check as well.

Bumping for the guys that have had issues like this.
 
Update on my problem. Now my gas gauge is acting screwy. Sometimes it works fine, but occasionally it will get stuck beyond full. If it's the fuel sending unit, that would explain why I'm getting the annoying flashing zeros on my DIC. Did they change that after the 97 model year or can I use one from a 98-02?
