Weird Electrical Issues

Hey guys, hopefully you all can help me out. So this all started when I went to my car and found the battery dead. I had a friend of mine jump it with his car and my horn started honking and the red led on the front dash was blinking. I turned the alarm off my the key fob. I then noticed the interior fan wouldn't respond, it was stuck on 5. I could switch either window, top or bottom fans just fine. I let the car run a good 15 min to let the battery charge. The fans became responcive after 10 minutes or so so I was able to turn them off. I turned the car off, the alarm went off again with lights flashing and everything. I went to turn the car back on and the battery was dead. This is a brand new battery, like duralast gold something. I think it may be the altranator or something? Let me know what you guys think. Thanks.

Kinda sounds like more to me. Sounds like a draw, probably the aftermarket alarm or ...and I'm stretching but the oddball fan thing has me thinking about the ignition switch.

I do not have an aftermarket alarm that I know of. The horn just goes off when I turn it on sometimes. I do have an automatic starter that hasn't been working recentally. Ever scence I got the car I have only been able to select fan levels 3-5. Levels 1 and 2 do not work. I was looking in this forum for a solution and did run across the ignition switch. I do agree that it is probablly a draw from somewhere...Any other thoughts guys?

Ok, aftermarket starter, but no aftermarket alarm?

gosh..Ive been screwing with cars too much. I'm starting to pick on aftermarket stuff as causes nearly as a first rule. lol

Just took it to Autozone to have them test the battery. Battery seemed charged which means the altranater works just fine. I started it just fine and the guy said it sounded like there might be a problem with the starter. He said it could have been that that drained the battery. I will keep you all updated.
