Weight Loss or Weight Gain Thread "2012"

Joined the gym 1 year and 2 days ago from this date today.

When i began, i weighed 190 pounds of belly fat, and could only bench 145lbs x 3.

Dropped down to 165 and lost a lot of fat, and now im back up to 178.5 (of muscle only) at the moment at 6 feet tall, benching 250lbs x 5 at the ripe age of 19.

Long year of working out 5 - 6 days a week but now that i look back, i made huge gains and im impressed with myself. Lets see what this year has in store for me.

It gets frustrating at times, but if you stay committed, you will see gains. All in due time.

Uhhh id prefer not take pictures with my shirt off and post it online.

I would feel kind of like a douche.

Or is that just me, feeling that way?

I wouldn't do it either! But just like you said it will come in due time. I live off instant gratification so I will have to be patient with this. I'm 23 and need to be in better shape than this lol

I sure am envious of your teenage hormones - almost as good as steroids. Wish I knew then what I know now about exercise. I'd be all kinds of jacked by now. Gotta work with what I got, though... all the Resolutioners at the gym are inflating the heck out of my ego every visit, so I got that for now. :D

Progress Pics?

I planned on it, but i never did.

I think i might have one picture from a year ago, then i could take one now.

got back into the diet thing again, we'll see where it goes.

after new years and christmas i felt like it was necessary. its only been a few days and i already feel "less fat". i know i probably didn't lose any weight yet, but i literally felt "full" for a week. haha.

I found that high rep light weight curls gets some good blood into the elbows as well. Something light enough for 100 reps, like a 25lb bar. I have gnarly elbow tendonitis from kipping pullups. I'll be working on warming my elbows up even more... they were screaming during yesterday's power cleans.

As far as diet's concerned, I let myself go during the holidays intentionally. It's as big a mental break as it is physical, and really helps keep me from petering out. But now that I'm eating clean and hitting the gym hard and happy again, it's great to be back to normal poops.

It sucks cause I loose a bunch of weight in the summertime due to being on roofs every day lugging around a 30lb tool bag and climbing and carrying ladders. It's the winter that kills me, being in nice warm boiler rooms and not swearing I pack on the pounds. So I need to start now and keep it off, seems like a lot of you guys wanna get in shape too, lets keep each other motivated!

You guys wanna talk progress picks? This broad dropped 125lbs by lifting the heaviest things she could find. In a year. She's no hottie, but she looks like a human being now. I'm damned impressed.

Here is my goal physique.

How long do you think it'll take? A year? Maybe two? Given I am only 18 I still have some of those insane hormones.

why the crap would you ever want to have that and have to maintain that?

to get that kind of definition you need literally no water in your body.
