Weight Loss or Weight Gain Thread "2012"

I did leg presses for the first time in a long time last night, 3 sets of 11 400lbs. I am having trouble walking around today. I have noticed that I feel less like being hit by a bus after leaving the gym now that I started to take Creatine. Im not looking for "showey" muscle, I am looking for a useful strength I need to join bodybuilding.com to get myself set up with a plan.

I did leg presses...I am looking for a useful strength
Pick one. You can't have both.

If you're looking for programming for strength, I'd suggest maybe nabbing some from someone that know what they're talking about instead of bodybuilding.com (there's a couple useful things there if you completely avoid the forums (which occasionally have a good sticky, but don't talk there, dammit), I guess). Maybe try Lift-Run-Bang or Lift Big Eat Big.

I have showy and strength muscle.

I have a naturally aesthetic build. Combined with my size and lack of body fat means that all muscle is big and chiseled, but at the same time has superior strength :p

I'm thinking I might eat my words on cleans replacing curls. I decided a hundred curls (OUTside the squat rack) after tonight's workout would be a good way to get some blood pumping through my elbows and maybe help fix the tendonitis I developed a couple months back. So, I've gone close to a year without a single curl. And wooooah pump. I'm beginning to wonder if part of my tendonitis development is simply my triceps overpowering the heck out of my biceps. It's a curious thought, so I'm going to continue to experiment with it.

138lb, started going to the gym 2 days ago. goal: get bigger, hopefully six pack, wanna weigh ~175lb

It 100% does not matter what time of day you take creatine, though the psychological effect of taking it as a "pre-workout" supplement could increase your intensity in the workout. If anything, (if only dosing once a day) I'd conjecture that it would be most useful immediately before sleep. If it does anything at all.

$0.50/serving for that creatine hcl.
$0.12/serving for creatine mono.
Just a thought.

i am jumping back on the train tonight. gonna hit the gym and see where this goes. i've been slacking for too long.

those of you on MFP might see me back on there soon, too.

GO you! I've been having a terrible time keeping on track after working my shift and getting home at 11pm i want to eat something. What's some tips you all have to keep those bedtime hungers down before i go hit the hay?

Also looking for some good decent dumbbell exercises. (I don't have a bench though)

I keep hunger at bay by eating. When I don't feel like food (usually after 10pm), I have a protein shake... whatever it takes to get like 50g of protein. Body needs protein and builds while you sleep, and you sleep better because you're not hungry.

DB exercises? snatch, clean and press, rows, lunges, overhead lunges, turkish getups, floor press, swings...

actually, here's 25 demo vids:

Going to pick up some Swole KREATE creatine pills. I had a trial pack and have really noticed an insane boost in everything at the gym.
And at $40 for 30 days worth it ain't too bad. :p

ryan, drink something light in calories or eat a small power/fiber bar or something. enough to hold you over, but not enough to make an impact on what you've done for the day.

$1.30/dose? Balls, dude. If you haven't tried mono, I'd suggest it, as it'll help the wallet and you can usually get a small container with a month's supply for like $8. You might get the exact same gains for a fraction of the cost.
