Weight Loss or Weight Gain Thread "2012"

You know, the one powerlifter I follow was discussing writing a book regarding training newbies an children. He works out with his teenage daughter who has a rather slight build... and now outlifts most guys I know (not that that is hard). It interests me because I know the basics (squat, dead, press) bore the heck out of most people and I haven't been able to figure out how to work out with someone that isn't very close to my own strength level without doubling my gym time. Actually, pe4me might be able to expand on how he gets newbies to train and stick with it.

gained:th_frowning:

closing in on 200.....just ordered some joint supps, vitamins, and protein.....start out just doing bodyweight HIIT....maybe in 6 months I'll be back into the 1100lb club again....

Speaking of joint supps, I felt positively arthritic at the gym today - this month's sleep deficit must have finally caught up to me. Yuck.

SLow its not that those lifts are boring, its that those require the most energy to complete. Your gonna tell me people want to bust ass in the gym for results? HAHAHA say it aint so!

All lifts eventually get "boring". There is only so much you can do before you repeat. It stops getting boring when the mirror rewards you.
There are weeks where I get bored with certain body parts, sometimes months. The mirror helps me snap out of it :)

As much as I look like a sack of cookie dough, I'm 50% less mayonnaise than I was a year ago. That does definitely keep me going. It probably took three months to fix the posture and start looking like I did work, though. Three months is plenty of time for some newbies to quit, unfortunately.

and when that 3 months is up I am alot happier at the gym! It really is amusing how people think Oh Im gonna take protein and creatine and jack3d and get huge. They gain 1oz. The locker room stories really are funny. That and asians walking around naked, the rumor is true btw :)

Finally acquired the bike i wanted since i was a kid.
A 2013 Trek 4300 in matte black w/ blue!
pics wouldn't do it justice.

Figure it's about time to update this thing. Had a job at a shop working on cars and stuff for about three months and in that time I lost 30 pounds from the lack of lunch breaks and being on my feet and moving for 10 or so hours a day. Then after that me and a buddy started getting into working out and such for the past two months. In that time I lost another 25 pounds and have really increased the size of my chest and my arms by alot and have also shrunk my waistline from a 40 down to a 34. All that is just from lifting weights. I now weigh 175 pounds. Now that it is finally starting to warm up I'm gonna start going on runs and trying to trim all that fat off from around my belly and see if I cant start to gets some abs to peek through. Sure enough though I should pretty much be close to or right at where I wanna be by May, just in time to be able to rip my shirt off and try and get some babes. lol Already been called a hunk once so it shouldn't be too hard. lol

between monday and yesterday i lost ~3 pounds (probably mostly water weight). i've been running everyday this week. today is a day off and the next two days might do a lighter run.

yesterday i put in 45 minutes of running with a 15 minute cool down walk. i was beat, to say the least.

55lbs and from a 40 to 34... solid work. Gotta say I'm jealous. Maybe I'll have to give cutting a try.
Hey thanks, not too hard to do being 18 and having been unemployed the last couple of months. lol Plus my appetite has decreased by alot and I have been eating smaller portions, also been taking this preworkout and post-workout stuff. I can see if I can find some names for you guys if anyone is interested.

Bill: When my leg was all busted up a while back, I switched to doing just upper body stuff, with good effect. It's kind of rough switching from an "every day is leg day" mentality, but I was better off for it once my leg healed up.

any lifting i do costs me negatively since im in a pure weight losing competition. it sucks because i like lifting.

i'll start that up when i win the $100 at the end of this.

I wish my wife could do what she did above. She used to have a killer ass on her!

I've lost around 50 going for more still. 40 to a 36. I think with a little more work I could get into 34's. I've taken my belt size down a notch in the past month just from lifting. I've been taking Monster Amino BCAA Fruit Punch before and after all of my workouts. I can tell my calves are way more defined and i'm feeling muscles in my arms again. I flex in the shower at myself. I can really tell my triceps are building. I couldn't hardly do a pushup 2 months ago and now I can do 2 sets of 20 pretty easily.

I really think my new found love for cycling and working out is really helping me! However I get jittery if i'm not outside doing stuff now. I hate sitting around!

Weighed in at 232 today. Still need to push hard to win this, but I'm currently in the lead. I want another 12 pounds in the last three weeks. Bring it on!

Lost 1.8 lbs me thinks. Down to 215.8 as of this morning. I just gotta keep it under control today. It was after a workout that I weighed so i probably shed some water weight.
