Weight Loss or Weight Gain Thread "2012"

You guys eat like birds. Half your guys total eatings I eat at breakfast.

it's funny because you're a meathead and we dont care.

when is the last time any of us said we wanted to bulk up and get huge? because i didn't read that anywhere yet besides your posts.

It happens. Not all of us in this thread have problems with weight gain either. I myself do. So, I eat a restricted calorie diet to lose weight and get down where I should be. To each there own. You seen the gym lately?

Well, shoot. Now I'm confused. Are we eating too much or too little?

Slow, Im guessing that ITHURTZ is a meat head, gym rat that is trying to pack on muscle. Its not uncommon for builders/weight lifters to eat 3500 calories a day. Packed with carbs and fat. But they burn it in the gym. I stay under 1900 a day. Usually in the 1600-1700 range myself. under 110 grams of carbs, under 70 grams of fat, and try and get atleast 140 grams of protein.

Get me some science on this brotha. This doesn't sound at all right to me. I keep getting stronger, so if I'm losing muscle in the process, it can't be too bad.

1100 calorie day... after last nights 1500 calories of beer, I'm okay with that. Mostly due to my all-day nap.

Complex carbs burn slowly in your body, which means you have to digest them alot longer than simple carbs and that causes the boost in your metabolism.

I'm trying to build a lil muscle myself. Lost 40lbs a year or so ago. I'm small, so it will take me a while to look bigger in the arms, etc. It's a slow process for me. I'm just hoping...and working when i can.

i ran yesterday so today im gonna just warm up and lift a little. i think im starting to develop a little shin splints due to me hitting the treadmill so hard almost immediately when i started working out.

Stop running for two weeks and let it heal. If you absolutely have to do cardio, check out a rowing machine (look up proper technique, first (videos, etc)).

I don't lift dedicated enough to burn calories doing it. I'm using it as strength training to help me along for the things that actually help me more.

Well, hey... if you want to cowboy through a painful injury... be my guest, man. I've done it before and wasn't happy with the results. Eventually, it can get bad enough to keep you from falling asleep at night... it's a downward spiral to keep pounding on an injury.

i ran an entire soccer season on some serious shin splints. i am no where near that. if i was i wouldnt even debate quitting running for a week or three.

Bikes and ellipticals are murderous on my torn acl/pcl or whatever it is. But squat clean thrusters leave it a happy clam. Go figure.

i feel like a douche on an elliptical. like i cant figure out how to move my legs without being stuck on this machine.

Bio - Stretch before you run and make sure you have the correct shoes. As in if you overpronate when you walk etc. I used to get shin splints when I ran, then I found out that when I walk I overpronate, so swapped out shoes and stretched more and that took care of the problem.

Muscle confusion to build/define muscle and to lose weight. I work out every other day cardio and lift weights..moderate weight until muscle exhaustion. 4 sets fo 12 reps.

I do stretch and I have a nice set of shoes I bought before I did a 5k last year that I got at a running shop. I only wear then when I run.

hehe, ill be doing some more running tonight so we will see how i feel after taking a couple days off from the running thing.
