• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

I am in search of some software or something to design a new logo. I am not looking for help, though the offers I have had in the past have been much appreciated, I know pretty much what I want to do but dont have the write stuff to design a logo. I bought some software a while back that will allow me to do some design work on the site but not actually make the stuff that you put on it from what I gather, or at least I havent wised up to use it yet lol. My current logo is just some clip-art stuff that is a royal pain to move into other programs because it is a word file and mixing that with pics is not a lot of fun and it would be great to be able to easily stick everything together. Thanks in advance to those who can offer suggestions!

Depending on your artistic skills there is GIMP, which is a Photoshop equivalent and its completely free. There is Logo Design Studio which may have what you are looking for but its commercial software.

I dont know of anything that is capable of designing web pages and also designing graphics in one package. Well at least do them both well. If they do both, they are usually minimalistic in their abilities.

I have always thought your site would benefit from the use of a Content Management System and there are plenty of free ones around that are very good, but do take some time to learn.

If you were looking for something more specific let me know and I'll see what I can dig up for you.

I've got Adobe Photoshop CS2, but if you're not looking to spend a lot it isn't what you're looking for. GIMP would do well.

Thanks guys! That logo design software looked pretty decent and also how would I go about finding the GIMP one to use? I use Limewire now and then but often software is chocked full of viruses or is not software and is just garbage lol. I dont mind spending under $100 for something and I know some of the PS stuff I looked at in the past was more than I wanted to spend at the time, or ever really! As I mentioned I bought some software to help build pages and is supposed to allow you to do annimated how page intros and such but I dont have the time to learn all of it and really just bought it to use the photo end of it to make a new logo but seemed like a fancy paint-shop type program and logo styles and lettering didnt pop out to me to use so it would be great to find something that specifically does that. I have a few logos in mind and could draw something but Im sure as soon as I see some logo software I will change my mind about the layout lol

Go here for GIMP
GIMP - Downloads

Its an Open Source program, which in basic terms means that the source code is open to be modified by anyone rather than proprietary like Widows. It is a GNU/GPL license which just basically means it is free to download and use. You dont need Limewire or anything like that to get it.

Here is another great graphics program
www.paint.net

It doesnt have the capabilities of GIMP but its a bit easier to use and also free

I have Photoshop CS3, GIMP and Paint.Net. I use GIMP mainly but when I just need to make minor adjustments to a photo then I'll use Paint.NET. It loads a bit faster and is easier to use, but if I need to do anything complicated, particularly with layers I'll use GIMP.

Ive also used the Logo Design Studio as Im not much on doing artistic things like making a logo from scratch with GIMP or Photoshop.
