just install the resonator. starting up the car is little quiet now, before it sound like an M80 blowing up:D. at idle it sound pretty good, more tone i guess. at wot, still the same as before very loud, but not that much raspy.

Wow what a huge difference at idle. If it fixed hway drone and WOT a$$ sound, I'd be all over it.

What does the inside of the resonator look like? is it smooth with holes or the kind with raised ribs?

Is that thing cammed or what? It sounds absolutely awesome!! The tone difference at idle is noticably different! What kind of catback do you have on your Monte? Also I love the stance of your car, what did you use to lower it with? Just curious.

the resonator is smooth with holes. yes i'm xp cammed with pacesetters, 3" exhaust, and some generic flowmaster mufflers (the shop ran out of the 40 series:th_angry-teeth:). ssc springs with stock struts.

That may be my next purchase. It looks very similar to the resonator that came on my GMPP catback. My sons new GMPP catback sounds much quieter (nicer) than my GMPP w/o the resonator. I could either try another resonator, get a new GMPP, or a new stock catback. Will try the resonator and if that doesn't make enough of a difference, it's stock again.

although not totally accurate can you put the recording device in the truck so we might hear WOT or hiway sound? The V6 sound is just embarrassing and being able to have something that flows well, but is quiet would definitely be a plus.

man, you're getting heavy! lol yeah i suppose i can go waste $50 of my gas i just fill up on a nice sunny sunday. did you say in the trunk? i have 3" exhaust with no cat and i think that make a little difference.

never mind LOL, yeah the 3" exhaust and no cat would equal a bad sound combination. My GMPP is only 2.5 inch system and I have the cat. Well I guess Mike will be selling another resonator.

i was joking, but i'll record from the trunk cause i never hear how it sound from the back. kinda good idea tho.

:th_biggrin2: When I said not totally accurate, the trunk will still have some sound deadening and tone lowering properties, but it will be as close to exterior sound without the wind noise or doing a driveby.:th_thumbsup-wink:

Thanks for doing this.

It really did quite it down, but we will have to hear it in person!!! :th_biggrin2: When's your next road trip to Fort Wayne??? LOL

here you go. it don't sound that bad i guess. didn't have duct tape in hand that's why my camera was bounceing around.:th_laugh-lol2: looking foward to be back in fort wayne again in late may.

Thanks for doing that. The car sounded like a high performance sportbike, but not farty at all. I was told mine sounded like a sportbike when I did a WOT driveby when going by a friend while he was in his vette vert. I believe I could live with the sound you have going on with the new resonator. :th_thumbsup-wink:
