Waterpump or waterpump pulley making motor knock noise??

Well, if some of you are keeping up with my $1000 GTP, you may know a few of the things that it needs fixed. I did a tranny swap yesterday, now that problem is fixed...

So on to the next problem:
It sounds as if the motor has a horrible knock or lifter noise... But I used the car lots mechanics stethascope type tool and poked all around the motor.... According to what I hear the noise is coming from the water pump....

Please tell me this is a possiblility... I don't mind payin $38 for a new pump instead of $500 for a new motor...

Anyone ever heard of this happening?
 


Umm, not quite sure if it goes away, Ill drive it here in a minute and let you know. It doesnt happen all the time though.... 90% of the time, it does make noise, but I drove it earlier and it didnt... so idk.... seems like after about 10 mins of driving it goes away until the next time you drive it... Even if its still warm the next time.
 
Check the wp pulley bolts. If that doesn't help it.. untension the belt and feel the pulley/pump, spin it etc. Feel anything that leads you to think it's worth trying $38?

Yeah let me get your number... :) And I havent done it yet because I havent had the chance to... I work 3 parttime jobs, part time college as well as design websites for people.. I barely have time to sleep lol

I understand, but I don't think its a motor knock.. I've had that happen before and this is a little different and ive pretty much pinpointed it to the waterpump area.
 
just pull the belt off and see if the water pump pulley has any play to it, and any of the other pulleys, spin them all make sure they are spin smoothly.
