Water in floor board

OK, so I took my interior out to do some work and I notice the passenger floor board was wet. I let it set for a few days, and it had not rained in about a week here. I picked it up from a friends house, where it was while I was out of town. I drove it to work this morning, about a 30 min drive from his house. when i got to work there was water in the floor board again, like I said it hadn't rained in a week. Where could that water come from, it was dry when I started driving. The A/C was on, not sure if that would cause it. I searched here, and I moslty found where it was wet AFTER it rained. Any input would be appreciated.

My personal experiance is that the water was coming in from the wiper cowel on the passenger side. The rain runs down the windshield, goes past the cheep and prob by this point worn out weatherstrip gasket on the plastic cowel cover, runs down past the heater/AC blower motor fan blades, drips onto the passenger side floor, then collects behind the front passenger seat. You can get an updated water deflector from the dealer that sits below the plastic wiper cowel and above the fresh air intake (where a cabin air filter would go if you have done this mod on your GP or own a Monte or Buick since it is stock on most of them). It tucks under the windshield a bit and is much longer that the air intake opening. The GM part # is 12591982 and is labled as a "shield". Mine cost me $9.14 after tax. I had about 3 gallons of water in mine from sitting for a week while it rained everyday. This resulted in pulling the seats and carpet out to allow things to dry. On the flip side I used this time to line my entire floor and interior with Dexdamp sound deadener. :th_thumb-up: Hope this helps.

Are you sure it's not coolant?

That's the first thing I checked, its water for sure. I'm thinking its something to do with the A/C. Maybe its draining into the car or something. Gonna dry it out and drive with no A/C on, and see if it appears again.

Anyone know how to fix that?

Find the A/C drain tube and stick a coat hanger or whatever up in it to clear the blockage. If that don't work check to make sure the drain tube did not disconnect fron the unit, if so, you might have to pull the A/C unit from behind the dash.

Just to make sure I have the right thing....

Is this the A/C drain, with the brown 90*?

the drain is on the fire wall, at the bottom, out side, engine bay side.

Thank you. I found it.

So I started the car and turned the air on full blast. Waited for it to start running in the floor, only it never did. I looked under the car and saw it was draining to the ground. I decided to take a drive and see what happens. I drove around for about 10-20 min and it started to drain into the floor again. I got back home and found it is draining into the car right wear it goes through the firewall, on the inside of the car, behind all the foam and stuff. Any one have any ideas on how to remedy this? Thanks.

A/C might drain at first until it starts really cranking. It sounds as if it is still plugged.

Thank you for the link, it shed some light on it. I did notice in the pictures that, I think, I am missing the 90* elbow that attaches to the hose at the firewall. All I see on my car is a small hole in the liner stuff on the fire wall. It looks to be a little bit recessed into the firewall, there is no excess sticking out, and no elbow.
