Right now I'm using a Boston g5 10 in a SB Pro Box with a 08 ZX500.1 powering it. Everything else is stock except my head unit which is some JVC that only has an AUX output and 50W going to the sub. I wanna upgrade it but I don't really know what would sound best in my 05. Any suggestions?
 


Just to give an update on an idea I'm thinking of putting a subwoofer wall almost right behind the "B" pillar with 2 18" Audio Que HDC3's. I'm planning on competing in USACi with these, if I do this right I should be able to pull at LEAST a 145 db rating.
 
you dont need to sacrifice your rear seats for 145

And theres no possible way to have a sound system that sounds good and balanced with 145 dB below 100 hz and still fit in in your car.
 
In a Grand Prix it's hard in general to get high SPL cause there's alot of space to move. Are you suggesting the only way to get it is a pure SPL system? cause I'm wanting a heavy hitting daily, not some burping crap.

Edit: I'm not trying to seem like some know-it-all kid trust me, but I know for a fact that a wall can be musical. And theres little other way's IMO to get those high SPLs without breaking my bank. I know for a fact theres a guy getting 159's in a GP, but heres the thing its 2 10's at 13k Watts. I'm on a budget man c'mon.

Well if you wanna be deaf I think firing a large caliber firearm in close proximity to your ears without any protection would be more budget friendly.

1LoudPrix or whatever his name is now, trav, his car is in the 140's i think on two 12's and one or two $300 amps.

Box is in the trunk.
 


the 2 12s box did a 148 on 2020W legal mic position @45hz
with the mic in center (midwestspl Kaos class) did 140.00 on music 3mins long, 1800W @47hz
those numbers where with 2 AQ SDC2.5 and 2 1200D @1ohm the 148 was with same subs and 2 Power Acoustik LFA-5500D @1ohm
if your wanting to go music Sundown Audio seem to do good AQ has the new 4inch coil coming soon and they like music it seems most of the other AQ subs like burping higher than music but thats mostly based on the box. Regardless both get mean

do you have a sunroof? if your going to wall 150s on music should be your goal or just go with trunk

if you had a sunroof and walled it you would blow the sun roof so fast wouldnt be funny and then you would have to weld it all off and repaint all that crap (reason why im in the trunk)
 


i would have or at less done the back up to the windows but i need the backseat for ppl my single 12 hits pretty hard atm.
the goal for this year is all out
 
i was thinking of doing the highest HO alt i could find yellow top up from 2-3 G31 yellow tops in the trunk with eather:
2 2200AQ and 2 12inch 4inch coils(not on the market yet)
2 2200AQ and 3 10inch HDC3 (3in coil)
2 2500 SAZ with 2 12inch NightShadev.3 SA
2 2500 SAZ with 2 10inch SA-X or Z v.3
firing forward with backseats laying down
