Want bluetooth in a decent car receiver

I'm in Canada so everything always costs more. That caveat out of the way I'm interested in swapping out the radio in my 04 GT ( pretty sure its not the Monsoon setup) with something more modern with bluetooth and USB support. I actually went to a local car audio installation shop and they wanted $450 just to install a deck I already own. Yes NOT to purchase and install a new deck, $450 JUST FOR THE INSTALLATION. Now I realize you need some sort of idiotic interface if you'd like to keep all the features of the audio and security systems in the vehicle but that seems completely whacked. I'm not a novice when it comes to installing audio so that's not the issue. The issue is where do I find a decent deck and that interface for not a ridiculous amount of money here in Canada?

Check Crutchfield for what you want. Likely to be way cheaper and they should have all the interfaces you need to keep the steering wheel controls and whatnot.

Crutchfield sells a rather inexpensive interface when you buy a new deck from them. They mentioned losing the calendar function which frankly I could care less about but does anyone know if I lose important information like TPM or low fuel warnings? Door Ajar etc etc?

I’ve had 11 GPs and I can tell u that I have lost the date on some. Generally, I can get a decent pioneer with BT, USB for $90 US, metra harness for 35-40, and install kit for 10-12, don’t forget the antenna adapter maybe 5 bucks I usually just buy them locally. Metra harness wire colors match the pioneer ones so it’s just a matter of making the 11 connections (assuming not hooking up an amp, and no Monsoon) Monsoon system has a center dash speaker. Crutchfield will tell you what you need but I always buy on amazon or ebay.

Yes I have installed a nifty Pioneer AVH-1330NEX DVD receiver in the Grand Prix. I overpaid a little for the wiring harness adapter with the data bus interface. In retrospect I should have just ordered all the installation accessories from Amazon but I'm impatient so ended up paying a bit more then necessary.

No I didn't need to tap into any factory wiring because I bought a rather expensive adapter. Only caveat was I needed to install a toggle switch for the video.
