• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

Want a set of Headers for 10 bucks?

Here's your chance.

Please read this entire first post before donating.

I'm going to order a set of SD headers and have them modified to be of the same exact 'quality' as those headers that everyone is talking about.
What I'm asking from you is to donate $10 to the cause. In return for your $10, I will be making a short video to show exactly what's involved in modifying these headers to fit and function just as those other headers advertise.
Most importantly, it gives YOU the chance to receive the headers when I'm done.
On top of that, should donations exceed the cost of the project, I will also forward the remaining account balance to you.

This is an experiment/film project and I do not intend to benefit even 1 penny.
Should only 1 or 2 people donate, I will kick in the rest myself.
I will literally put the user names in a hat and film the winner being picked.
Old school.

I do ask that in the spirit of this project, you actually want to put headers on your car. Please don't enter simply to get headers for $10 and then resell them for a profit.
That'd be dick.

I will be updating this thread with a list of all those who are entered.

The drawing will take place on Thursday January 23rd at 5pm EST.
Should I be busy at this time, the drawing will be rescheduled to Friday January 24th at 5pm EST.
The drawing will be filmed and be included in the finished product. However, the actual completion of the project could take a few more days.
The winner will be announced HERE at the time of the drawing.

*** Disclaimer ***
To be eligible, you have to post in this thread stating you donated, when you donate, please include your GPF username and send AS A GIFT.
Also, if we know each other on a personal level (IRL), you're disqualified from the drawing... however you can still donate!
All are encouraged to donate, even if you don't want to be in the drawing. $10 minimum but feel free to donate as much as you would like.

Interesting. I'm down. If anything it's worth the wealth of information on how to modify then cheap and quickly.

Post a NO BS DATE and I will pitch in.

Never thought I'd send money to flake but this is for a good cause. <cant believe I just typed that lol.

In all seriousness I like where this is going and its basically a big middle finger to a few select individuals around the 3800 communities.

This should be worth it. I'm down for the info at the very least.

Tyler.

Crossover clamps ordered. These are the Torcite stainless step clamps for the crossover.
These are some of the best clamps you can buy for such an application. T-304 stainless.

Step clamps solve the issue where SD headers come with inferior style C clamps.
They ensure no leakage at the crossover connections.

closing this, at least for now. we need to discuss some things in the moderator pool.

stand by, will advise.

note that the moderator staff does not support this method of project funding. it is your own prerogative if you wish to give mr. snowflake money, but it is a risk all in itself.

it is our recommendation that this "project" be contained and funded exclusively by snowflake himself, then the headers sold thereafter if desired. the subject itself is a matter of debate. the craftsmanship of said comparable headers and how they are assembled and reworked is in itself a fair deal of work that not all can accomplish personally. marking up a product for profit is simply not a foreign concept anywhere on the planet.

either way, this is up to the people in the end. it's not our responsibility to protect you, your identity, or your funds. if you do decide to give snowflake money, just know you'll never get it back and you'll be funding a mission that he, and a select few, are adamant about.

proceed.

Do you side job for A&E public relations or something???? Wasn't everything your lame "disclosure" covers already posted and expressed in post #1 the intentions of this project?

Thanks for keeping the thread up even though you may not agree with me.
Just to give people a heads up... I've done thousands of dollars worth of trading/business on this board alone.
While not everyone likes me or agrees with my views... I've never ripped anyone off a dime.

It's true.. if a lot of people donate, your chances of being the person who actually gets the headers in your hand goes down.
You do get a write up and a video on how to duplicate the results of this project should you choose to.
That's why I asked for people who want headers for their car.

i've done a project or two of my own and never asked for donations. it's part of the game.

i, for one, think $600 for a set of $250 headers modified to fit properly and well as a purchased part is not all that crazy. do any of you remember how much TOGs used to be? and they kinda sucked, too.
