• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

wheeee! just spent the last 6 hours (including dinner and cleanup) removing about 900 SF of carpet out of my house... prepping for new laminate floors next week. yay, im excited!... pooped, but excited!

...also remembered why i hate tack strips!

yeah i know, it's not car related, but needed to share :)

Yeah, it took about 2 days to remove the carpet from my girlfriends house.... I feel ya on the tack strips...He cat though walked on em every chance he got :th_coocoo:

wow... and i thought cats were supposed to be smart. my dad and i went through the house in pretty good order. though it was technically only 3 large rooms and a hallway.

was kinda scarry to see the ammount of dirt under the carpet and padding... nothing soaks into concrete slab, so it's all there underneath!

I am considering doing the same thing. I have roughly 1500 sq. ft. of it though. So I'm guessing at least two bottles of wine to do the job right...

I put in some really nice Laminate wood floors in my house about 2 months ago. Did you opt for the beveled edge (looks like there's a slight notch in between the pieces), or flat?

going with the non-beveled. the bevels just dont look natural to me... when you have real hardwood floors, they arent beveled (especially if they've been sanded/refinished.)

i did pick out the kind that has the 'registered' embossing of the grain, so it matches the "grain" pictured on the laminate surface.

score one for craigslist! i didnt want to cut the old carpet into 4 foot strips for the trash man, so i thought i'd throw it up on the free section of craigslist... did that at midnite. by 2 pm, i had probably 6 people wanting it.

yay! :)
