im tall and somewhat fat. I bought a small car because I needed the mpg. I work 50 miles from home, and go to school 40 miles from home.
jetta gets 37 mpg and is reasonably sporty. I couldn't afford anything bigger.
I wanted to buy new because my last 2 cars all turned into money pits, and I just wanted something stress free until I graduate, and I could move closer to work.

This^^^ That is the only reason my 6'1" 285lbs ass ever owned a Hyundai Accent. Sure I looked like a bear riding a roller skate, but a $300 car that didn't need any work that got 30 mpgs in town was too hard to pass up.

heres food for thought. some cars will dectect if the back wheels spin if they dont spin the computer knows it. thats probably how they get the computer to give false info when its getting a smog.
