Video tutorial: Lower Intake Manifold Gasket + Lifters in 33 minutes [*]

Thanks for relinking the video! I have to do the LIM and Valve cover gaskets on my 98 GTP here this spring. Doesnt looks to bad at all.

I still cant get this link to work. I click it and it opens up a google site but no video. What am i missing?

Must be something with your browser.....I just opened it again. I am using Explorer version 8.......the link (second one listed as most current on the initial post) is working.

I have all this taken apart now and was wondering what everyone uses to clean the lifter and crank area and such of all the old oil and such? Thanks

more oil.

Take a quart or 2 and dump it all over the vally to wash away any coolant or debris.

Then once done, drain the oil. Fill with some cheap stuff, run for 10-15 min and change it again with a new filter, you dont want to chance it buy only changing the oil once.

Is the temp sensor that threads into the LIM for coolant or oil? I want to replace it while I have it all down but the part number listed on the earlier pages would not come up at our local parts house. Thanks again for all your help.

It is for the coolant....replace your t-stat while you are at it and you will see the temp sensor just inside the opening once you remove the t-stat. NAPA part number TS4052.......for my '04 GTP. Good luck, I am replacing fluids in the next few minutes and testing out my LIM gasket, valve cover gaskets, waterpump, t-stat, coolant temp sensor, injector o-rings, and anything else I broke in the process.....

Guys, I completed this and as everyone said it was not really all that bad. I have a few questions though. My temp gauge is pegged out even though I changed the temp sensor on the intake. Why or what would cause that? Also, the supercharger seems to be louder when idling than normal. Should i check the oil on it and if so how. I have owned the car for 10 years and never checked or changed. Thanks again for all the help.

Did you bleed out your coolant when you were done? Took several times to get all of the air out of mine. Idk about the SC but would believe that the oil should be changed. I know there is a good thread somewhere on this site regarding that subject.

Do I need to have the engine at TDC when I tighten the rocker bolts? Some sites say I do and others say I don't. If I do how exactly do I find TDC? I know it involves turning the camshaft but thats about it

i dont understand how this much work is done so quickly. i just changed my coupler and it took me 2 days, and it also was the most frustrating thing ive ever done. and that was supposed to be easy. i dont know how you mechanic guys do this crap

im 17 and it took me about 2 hours you just gotta be paitenet and if you get mad just walk away before your break something.

Soooo. I just did this and put headers and exhaust on all at once... Now I gotta know, what happens if you forgot to put sealant on the lower intake bolts?
