Vibration at idle in overdrive

Hi guys I'm sort of lost as what my issue could be. First I'll start with what's going on and I apologize for the lengthiness but just keeping from you having to ask for the basic stuff. My car (99 Regal GS) was left at home and driven very little for a week. The parents got the oil changed while I was gone also. Other than that there was nothing done to the car except the sway bar bushings were greased up a bit.

So I get the car back, no CES, no service vehicle light, and drive it back home with no issues til I get to the first light off the interstate when I have to come to a complete stop. The car starts vibrating as people describe when you get all poly mounts (uppers round and square, tranny, and engine) and it suprised me because why would I suddenly get it now after installing just the upper square ones almost 4 to 5 months ago? To clarify, its like sitting in a vibrating back massaging seat with the dash vibrating right along also. The engine sounds fine; no misfire, no strange gurgling or high/low idle, and when I'm at a complete stop and raise the idle what looks like maybe to 800rpm it goes away. Also to note, I believe I have some sort of power steering issue/magnasteer of some sort also. I recognized that when turning the wheel at a stop in overdrive the vibration goes away but when I leave the steering wheel turned the vibration is slightly more noticeable. I checked the fluid today and it was low so I'll take care of that tomorrow.

One more thing to note when I got home and parked the car, when I was shifting it between gears, when going into reverse there was the sound of rattling parts or something.

I have no idea if all these issues are connected or what but just a week ago I was having only noticeable harder to turn the steering wheel issue. Now after the oil change and getting it back all these things have come about.
Any ideas???

have you changed your lower engine mount and lower tranny mount? that very well might be your vibration.

power steering...well. all the gps and regals ive been in shudder when you dry steer. just try not to do it is my best advice, and keep the fluid full. maybe flush if it worries you that bad, and see if it changes.

The uper square mounts are zzp and the engine lower mount is solid but this was done about 4 to 5 months ago and it was never this bad of vibration up until yesterday. Just a sudden big amount of vibration.

right. well its worth takin the time to look at the tranny mount, especially if you hear a noise when shifting in reverse and what not.

i had a solid lower engine mount and tranny mount and they vibrated at 50-65 speeds pretty much, never at idle.
so yeah check out that tranny mount, easy and free start.

Sorry should've been more clear about the reverse thing. The rattling is coming from the shifter itself like in the center console.

OHH! i see. wellll without hearing it idk, i'd say just pull the bezel off and look in there, shift it in gear with car off see what moves then listen for the culprit or maybe you'll see it :)

You may just need to balance your tires. An alignment is a possibility too. I would suggest you take your vehicle in for an inspection. If you have any further questions, please feel free to contact me.

What doesn't make sense to me is that its only right around what looks like 675-750rpm.... When I shift to neutral it goes slightly below that and the vibration is gone. If you give it a bit of gas in overdrive and still not moving just raising the tach just slightly the vibration goes away again.

like i said take a look at the tranny mount, wouldnt hurt to look at the lower motor either, even though its "new"

and go from there.
