Vibration and noise on takeoff

This problem was stated in another thread but as it is a different problem than the original thread...so i figured a new post would be better. My problem is as follows...I recently replaced the 2 front hubs on a 2005 gt and an inner boot (right side )...now after parts were installed I get a vibration and a noise ( (more often when the car is under more stress like starting from a stop on an hill...sometimes starting on a flat but not all the time). It seemed as it was coming from the hub on the passenger side so I took off the new hub and put on one of the old ones , but it still acts the same way....could the axle cause this maybe?

any ideas/help greatly appreciated.

also the sound/vibration only last for maybe 10-15 feet... maybe even a couple car lengths or so then stops...always when the car first starts moving.

could be a axle going bad, you really need to find a part that looks bad, test it and change if needed.

oh that boot change, you had to take the outer tie rod off, you may need an alignment now. if it didn't go back on exactly where it was.

nope didn't take tie rod off just the unhooked the balljoint from the steering nuckle....cut the old inner boot off,,,took the axle out leaving the joint in the transmission..put the new boot on the small shaft slid the shaft back in and then put the big clip on the inner boot and put new hub on at that time.

inner boot on what? the axle? or the rack inner tie rod?

if its the axle did you pack it with grease? and if it was a cut boot already, it may have been dead already and is now showing its self.

Do you figure thats the most probable cause for the issue?....if so any pointers on getting it out of the transmission side as there isn't much room to get a pry bar in there as any ive changed before u just gave it a quick pry and they slid out but very little room on these cars for that?

the pass side you should be able to just push it in and pull it out by hand, its the driver side that likes to fight.

if need be a pry bar will fit in be tween the axle and tranny.

Update,,, Ive put a new axle on the passenger side..have new rotors and brakes and 2 new hub assemblies...still have vibration on take off...every time if I stop on a hill and start to move...any ideas on what may be the cause?

any help is greatly appreciated

when your trans slips it will chatter via the wheels. going up a hill from a dead stop will cause it work harder. so thats why im thinking trans slip.

if giving it more gas makes it vibrate more id be thinking trans for sure.

I'm quite sure its not slipping.....i'm quite aware of tranny slips as my jimmy had that problem. It sounds like a grind like noise with a vibration.....thats why i was leaning towards one of the new hubs being defective as the problem was not there before i changed the hubs....... i did put my old one on the pass side as that is where I thought the sound was coming from .....maybe i should try the old hub on the drivers side ...idk what to do at this point.

my mom and pop alignment shop here will look over your fornt end test drive to figure out whats wrong, then tell you for 25 bucks if they dont do the repairs.

it maybe best to spend a few bucks for someone to test drive and look over your car.

yeah maybe..the car is due for inspection in a couple weeks...maybe they can find the issue...in the mean time i may put my old hub on the drivers side and see if that helps, as the noise wasn't there before the hubs were changed so one would logically think that the issue lies there.

I've eliminated the drivers side hub as well as i put on my old one and it does the same thing...to me it still sounds like its on the passenger side....maybe the motor mount?...it looks o.k thou?

Another thing i've noticed while playing around with it this afternoon was ...if I hold the brake on and apply the gas slowly I get the same noise/vibration without the car even moving.

pop the hood, then fire it up. then watch the engine and shift it from P to R then to D then back to R. how much is the engine moving when its shifted in and out of gear?
