Vette's 1996 Cherokee

Just changed gears on a dana 60 and dana 44 today with a few friends. first time i've done that so I learned a lot. I'm gonna run the stock dana 30 up front and upgrade to a ford 8.8 for the back.

man those pic really bring me back to my 97 cherokee, mine was a pos, even the new engine i put in was a pos, and it was a jasper. traded that in for a 01 jeep with the v8, leather and fully loaded, much better riding jeep, and much faster.

is the valve cove leaking yet, on the 4.0? that back bolt is so much fun to even get to from what i remember.

valve cover leak? mean intake/exhaust manifold? not yet, but i've changed one out before. Yeah, we kinda said screw it on the back bolt and torqued it down with a weevil wobble :hides:

yeah valve cover, both engines leaked, the new one leak from day one, and it was put on before it went back in the truck, idk, i had no luck with it at all.

the jeeps were my girls rides at the time, she was a car killer for sure. i made damn sure she took better car of the 01, because i co signed for the loan. i got to drive it on the weekends or when we went out as a 4x4 with ladder racks and ladders rattling around is no way to go out for dinner.

Hm, sounds like a run of bad luck. These 4.0's have a record for being indestructible. That's the reason I went with it. Not a fan of those V8's though. This one doesn't need to go fast, just needs to be able to climb stuff :P

yeah the 4.0 was a strong 6, but my girls right foot was no match for it, she was a pisser, i'd sometimes not drive the jeep for weeks, and then when i do im like wtf is this, when were you going to say something, witch could have been anything from brakes to smoke coming from under the hood, CAR KILLER TO THE MAX. THANK GOD SHES A EX!

We mounted my buddy's 33's on my jeep, just to see if I could fit them at stock height.

Mandy died tonight. Starter went out. I have a test on friday that i still need to study for, and i was gonna drive home straight after. So I will spend tomorrow studying applied thermodynamics from under the hood of a Jeep.

She's all good again. Starter did go bad, but it still wouldn't start up right, like it wasn't getting fuel. A CPS and fuel filter later, found out it was just the battery.
