Verizon

Does anyone have Verizon? I'm coming home on R&R from Afghanistan soon and i'm looking to get a new phone. Can anyone suggest a good phone? I was looking at the Droid Bionic, the iPhone 4, and the Casio® G'zOne Commando™

Depends on a few factors. The location your going to be at.... it is pointless to have a 4G phone with no 4G coverage. If you have 4G.... I would hold out till supposedly Nov. 3 for the Samsung Prime to come out. It is the next Google Nexus experience phone. If you have 4G coverage.... or if you're gonna be back soon, Droid Bionic. Otherwise I would get a Droid Incredible 2.

I have a couple Iphones one AT&T and the other is Verizon. The Verizon always has strong signal, the ATT...not so much. I have a couple Droids too....really cool phones, but they are too big for my liking. Droids are 4G and the Iphones are not. But Im in Houston and there are still barely any 4G hot spots. So the 4G is pointless.

Verizon works for us. Phone is a used LG 8300 that does everything I need it to do. Calls out and receives calls. Occasionally I'll send one of those text messages on it. I recommend not getting into a contract when you return home.

Most importantly, THANK YOU for serving. We owe you a debt of gratitude!:th_winking:

I use 2 cups and some string, really saves on the data costs but sometimes the reception isn't the greatest :th_winking:

I just picked up one of these babys.... they call it a mobile phone:

I had nothing but Issues from verizon, I had to file with the FCC and BBC and my local states attorneys office before they would refund me my money they owed. They over charge and theres many lawsuits out about it. Just my two cents

I was looking for a new phone a couple months ago..... so heres my take

Thunderbolt - really fast all around (hence the name), HTC Sense is nice, really nice screen, good cameras, but battery life was very poor partly due to it being 4g and the screen being giant (i feel as if its almost too big, also 4g is useless unless you can use it)
iPhone 4 - also fast, simple, but its just well... an iPhone. dont let the brand buy you. I had an iPhone 3gs and was going to wait until the iPhone 5 to upgrade but iOS didnt really impress me so I decided to hell with that (iPhone 4 has only 5mp back camera when most are 8mp nowdays and the screen is only 3.5", not to mention its over a year old)
Droid X - fast, good cameras, etc. but i don't really like the layout of the basic Android OS and the phone itself was really bulky, which i think is annoying when carrying it in your pocket
Droid 2 - decent, but I hate sliding keyboards because it turns the phone into a brick
Blackberry - NO... to all of them
Droid Incredible 2 (the one I picked) - I really liked it because it had a 4" screen but its still only about as big as an iPhone. Its fast, its got HTC Sense, has 8mp rear camera, and front facing camera. and it actually has good battery life for it being an android, it lasts the whole day and then some if I'm not mega web browsing or playing games

and thats about it

havent played with the bionic but it looks like a good phone minus the size
