VE Tuning... wtf?

Firstly, I'm using HPT... Took me 3 or 4 days to make the sweet config file I'm using :th_mischievious:

Maf disconnected, PE disabled - All data is logging correctly and accurately, Problem is : After adjusting my VE table,
which is lean by 15%-20% at low rpm, I flash the new adjusted file then re-record...

It stays the same... Or worse, it runs even more lean! wtf is going on here?

At 2,800rpm/30kpa, I have 1.23. I multiply that cell by 1.23 and on the next dyno pull, it went to 1.27 lol :th_scratchhead:

on certain years/cars, the VE table is ignored, on others it plays a large role....I have seen this a bunch of times.

The accurate way ( and some will argue) is to set the Injector table to what ever you have and then scale the MAF to get the correct fueling out of the car. Others will tell you to set the Stock MAF, and then change the IFR to the the correct fueling. Really dosent matter....but to get the car dialed in this is what you need to do

^^^^ IFR before maf...totally agreed. It will save a lot of headache later.

BTW op if I'm over 20% I just paste special add then I paste special multiply half percent when I'm getting closer

Hmm, I thought my car used blended operation of the 2... Thanks for chiming in here, saved me a lot of time.

3800 pcms run completely non blended. They will either be in maf mode, VE mode, or Alpha-n mode. All PCM's default to maf mode when everything is working. At seemingly random, half of the PCM's out there will use only alpha-n mode when the maf breaks, all PCMS will use alpha-n when the maf and the map are failed. The other half of PCM's will use VE mode when the maf is failed.

There is a switch availible in some OSID's in TinyTuner to select/view the fail mode between VE and alpha-n.
 
If that's the case in all pcm was the point of the dynamic airflow setting? I was always under the impression pcm would use blended operation until a certain user set rpm and switches to maf only
