ok so i rebuilt my engine and now have valve lash. it sounds like its only on a few of them. mostly rear bank. but how do i go about fixing? what could be wrong. i know i forgot to stick a q-tip down in the bolt holes prior to reinstall :th_bangheadonwall:....could they have not torqued properly? :th_scratchhead:

:th_laugh-lol1: valve lash is just a fancy way of saying the rockers are ticking...makes selling jobs easier for mechanics like myself :th_thumbsup-wink:

You should only have to adjust valve lash on a solid roller. There is no adjustability on a hyd roller cam and valvetrain.

The only thing that could be wrong is that the rockers were not torqued properly,You're push rods are the wrong length or you have a colapsed lifter. If I recall correctly you are suppose to soak the lifters in oil while they are out of the engine.

well, i went thru and cleaned out oll the sleves and re-torqued them. sounds good but found out i have an exhaust leak. could this be some of the ticking?...and i also broke the lower coolant elbow tongiht as well.....
