Valve cover gaskets

Are the valve cover gaskets from zzp any good? I have a pair and I was told that they suck so I would rather not use them and just buy a different set if they are going to cause me problems shortly down the road. Thanks for the help!

They don't say, they came in a little black ziplock bag thing and they look like this

billboost37 has pics posted somewhere of the zzp gaskets laid in the vc, they clearly dont fit well.

you can get the felpro gaskets, that fit right, for 10 a side from rock auto, but will still need to order the new gromets, or buy the set with the gromets, the felpro set i got locally cost 55 iirc

NA gaskets are cheap..buy felpro.. hell.. since you are going with Victor Reinz...it's all good.

I have always found ZZP gaskets to be super tight in a cover. Tough to think they'd seal. Although they fit into the polished aluminums that ZZP sells perfectly. I think there's a difference in size of their cover since FelPro's are too big for their covers.

here are those pics

I've had others bring them to me and I've used a spare cover to demonstrate. Most guys buy the Fel Pro's because they don't prefer the fitment of the ZZP ones.

^ what he said...

I had the ZZP gaskets in my plastic VC and it leaked in less than a year, nasty crapola if you ask me.
I now have the polished aluminum covers and the fit was spot on.

Yea I am talking to a zzp rep now to try and get a refund and I went out today and got felpro grommets and victor reinz gaskets. Thanks for the help guys
