• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

DUI BABY
alright ladies and gents, here is the deal. i am no longer being entertained by people posting random, useless posts in the middle of threads that were created for an actual purpose. if you make a random post in a thread for no reason at all i am just going to delete it. i will not warn you, i will not tell you not to do it, but i will delete it and leave you wondering where your precious thread crap went. i will continue to do it and if you continue doing it i will give you a warning which will lead to suspensions and bannings. if your post has nothing to do with the topic at all then just dont post it. youre wasting peoples time by making them read through your garbage to get to the real material they were looking for.

while on the subject, i will also start posting in threads that are brought up 100,000 times with a simple answer:

you did not search. try the search function. it works.

then i will lock the thread and it will fall into the unknown. i will put a thread containing all of the useful threads found on here on the NOOBIES section for all of the noobies to read. this will consist of all the stickies found throughout the forum and will solve many, many questions that come up all too often. if you have a thread that you know should be stickied please TELL ME and i will sticky it and make sure it's in the appropriate forum.

this forum has begun to grow greatly in numbers and it is time to start making it more professional. there is a lot of knowledge here, but we must sift through a lot of crap to find that knowledge, which is what i want to eliminate. please help me, help you.

i appriciate the effort you will put into this bio, and i agree on if someone has a seious concern or problem that one member should not post something in there that wont help the member with the problem, we are all guitly of it at one time or another. but we dont want members to be afraid of posting either, so with that said we should all post smartly. hopefully this will cut down on thread jacking and bashing too

i will say, i think it is acceptable to post things off topic after the problem has already been addressed.

example

Bio: what spark plugs do i go with?
Warbeaver: autolites you fool
Bio: Ok, great! thanks for the help
Rocafella: Warbeaver, I love you so much, your so awsome, may I be your friend?
Warbeaver: no sorry

so on and so forth..

I also think its pointless to make a noob section when we have a write-up section. they need to practice searching for threads, and what better way to do it than give them the exact section where they can find an answer? If you do decide to do it anways, address HIDs, Projectors, Spark Plugs, 3.4 Pullies, Tail light tinting, Aeroforces, and everything else that gets asked on a daily basis. You know.

right, if its an opinion or something in the lounge or rant sections then by all means useless post, but if some one needs help and a member is getting in the way of some one learning on a GP or engine section, then there could be problems

good stuff this may stop some of the e-pissing contests that go on in threads

I still think a "noob" type thread Is something that can help with the point less threads since the info will be given or maybe a simple redirect could work

Always wanted to be a mod on one of my forums maybe some day it will come true lol the power must be great

this will not pertain to threads without much meaning from the get go. if the subject is flaky and stupid then the thread will follow suit. however, when an actual subject is brought up and people are throwing in a post that pertains to nothing at hand then it will be deleted without reason.

yes, the lounge is the place to throw out dumb ideas and have fun in your posts and it will stay that way. this is more in reference to the other sections. unwarranted bashing will always be a no, no and i will even start warning nick (blue) to tone it down in his posts as a lot of it its completely unnecessary.

Thank you bio! I agree that there is a lot of useless posting made here that serves no purpose other than to push up a persons post count. I applaud your efforts to try and clean things up. Maybe the same questions won't be asked 1000 times if people don't have to filter through so much garbage for the answer. :th_thumbsup-wink:

I remember back on a old paintball forum I was on we had a OT thread in the OT forum.. Anyone think its a good idea? Good way to keep useless bs posting controlled because we all know bs posting is fun.

this is a great idea. somehow though we should make the search a little better. alot of times id search for things and it would tell me the term is too small to search. for example if you search... L32 swap or genV swap it removes the genV or L32 and gives you pages upon pages of just swap... so youre screwed to cycle through it.

You can use the Tag function.. I was pissed about this too, and started using the tag function and it works fairly well.
