Use monsoon amp wiring for new amp?

I'm a fan of upgrading the ground. Easiest is the rear strut tower. I happened to have the correct nut on hand. You can take one nut off and put ground on and re-attach. I'm not a fan of the anemic stock wires either, but it's all about what you're trying to do.

thanks, appreciate it. I will just use the existing wires, was just worried it would degrade sound. Going 80 watts at 3 ohms to the front doors.

I've got 100W @ 3.6ohm in my doors on the factory wires and they sound much better than stock.

The rear shock tower is an adequate ground IF it works, but I would sand away the paint under which ever stud you use, because technically the shock mount stud shouldn't be a ground.

Is there a chance that the stock wiring won't be enough?

There is no guess work here. 80W at 3ohms can only max out at 5.1amps of current. Then that means you can use as small as 18ga wire. And that is peak possible amps, not continuous, so you could probably get away with even smaller if you had to.
