Use Drill to Wax a Car?

So here's what I was thinking, is it possible or okay to use a drill to polish a car? I'm thinking that an orbital polisher is really the way to go but would it be okay for me to just use a regular power drill with a head attached with a pad and polish with it? Anybody done this or know of anyone that has?
 


you can but you can burn the paint real easy if not careful. a right angle grinder set up would be easier to handle as well. drill is long and flops a round on ya.

you can search you tube for all sorts of caw waxing vids.

but as you know, a PC orbital is safe and does a great job.

That is exactly what this product is designed for. If you're looking to use it for waxing, or getting out light swirl marks maybe that would suffice.. but without the high rpm's and powerful motor to put some pressure down on it, you're not going to get much out of a rubbing compound.

There is a reason the real DIY buffers are 200+ dollars. As far as the waxing goes, I think you'd be better buying even a simple turtle wax orbital buffer.

Just for the sake of it being a 10 inch pad versus the like... 5 or 6 inches of the meguiar's thing.

They sell a really nice orbital on their site though, if you want to get something a little more useful and professional to really get results from that rubbing compound, polish, or wax.

if you notice, the front wheel of the pick up truck has a card board slug over it. well my brother has one cut for every cars wheels he owns. keeps tire shine off your wheels.

i found him using the cover for his girls arura on my car cause both 16's and was like whats going on here?
 


So I take it dual action is good for a polisher? Also which polisher brand would be better Mequiars or Porter Cable?
 


Look on YouTube for a guy named Junkman2000 and watch his videos he'll reach you some strategy and show you what it can do and how it can't damage your paint. It's dummy proof.
 
I know I do have some mothers stuff too but I used one of the other big named ones and it took some of the color out of my dash and so thats when I just started using Meguiars for most everything because I trusted it alot more over other brands.
 
it can take out any scratch that your finger nail dont get caught it.

so if you slide your finger nail over the scratch, and your nail catches the scratch your stuck with it.

it took most of this mess out,

I have a Porter Cable and it's well worth the money. You can find them for somewhere around $130 on ebay or amazon I believe.

I prefer Meguiars for pretty much everything, their top of the line products (the only ones I buy) have given me great results.

Can't wait for this winter to be over to really correct my black GP.
 
Will say some of Meguairs pro line is the ****s :) well there OTC stuff well you get what you pay for I prefer my wax to last awhile in case weather or I'm to busy to get to it myself.
