Urgent Help Needed

All of a sudden, my blower motor will not turn off. The only way I can do it is to disconnect the battery. Obviously, this isn't a viable long term solution. I have to assume this is a wiring problem as it has to get power to run. TIA

happened on a previous '97 i had. replaced the resistor (under the pass side dash) for $40 and problem solved!... And I got fan speeds 1 through 3 back, which had been out for a year

Folded the passenger seat flat and basically laid on my back with my head in the footwell, under the dash. I think that I had to pull a trim panel off (2 fasteners), and then you can see the resistor. You have to unplug a harness to the motor, then you've got three screws to tackle. That will free the resistor. It took some time, as those screws were not easily accessible. 1/4" ratchet with some extensions and knuckles made the job possible.

Well, I got the sucker out of there. Made life easier to remove the blower motor too. Now I'm off to AZ to get a new one and see if that works. Still not sure how I'm gonna get that one hidden bolt back in there. I hate flying blind.

Got all the screws in and everything is back to the way it was. Thanks for the help guys!!!!!
