Upper dash

2008 base GP. just noticed my upper dash right below the lower windshield is cracked on both sides. this is the narrow piece which the defrost duct is part of. My question is, does the entire dash have to come out, is this a two-piece upper dash? has any one else had this happen. The weather has been very mild with only a few warm days so far. It's only myself thats been in the car.
 


No it's separate from the rest of the dash. Order a new one from the dealership or online from sites like gmpartsdirect and swap it

#1 should be what you need w/o the heads up display option. Go down to your local GM dealer and they can pull it up on the screen and provide you with a price number and right down the part # and either order from there or go online.
 


I'll get a price from the dealer since they usually can get it quick and avoid the shipping cost but sometimes they mark it up much more then what you could just order it for
 
Sorry hadn't logged in for awhile. But yes, thank you. That is the exact part I need. was checking it out the other day, and seems to slide toward window, and pull/bend ends to bow and lift out. better get it done now before cold winter and plastic parts problems.n
