upgrade speakers

i have a 99 GTP with BOSE speakers i want to upgrade to some rockford fosgates but when we tried to do that with my friends car the tweeters would fit under the factory covers what up with this?
 


I think you meant to say "would not fit" and I believe this is the case with most aftermarket tweeters. Usually the magnet is quite a bit bigger, and even if it did fit underneath the window pillar, it requires custom mounting. Kinda sucks, I know, but its what were stuck with.
 
I just left the stock tweeters in mine. I know for a fact that Rockford power series interiors have a tweeter built into each speaker.
 
I actually got a set of pioneer 5.25 front speakers with tweeters (combo) together. The tweeters were a perfect direct fit.
