So I used to have the basic 04 Grand Prix GT since '06 then went and bought the '04 GTP and have loved it up until April of this year. With that dying, I'm buying the 2008 GXP this Friday and I'm so hyped up I can't wait! But my question is, what can I expect in terms of major and minor differences between my '04 GTP and the '08 GXP. Are there any subtleties that aren't listed on the spec sheet?
 


if the OP is into performance modding then the GTP is better but if not then the GXP is better because its the top of the line Grand Prix, biggest engine, better suspension, looks the best etc
 


There's nothing really wrong with my '04 GTP other than the transmission about to die (assuming because its jumping like never before), few cosmetic things and brakes, and over 200K miles. I planned on keeping it forever and I still might, but I happen to know somebody who purchased the '08 GXP and is not going to be able to make payments anymore. With so little left on the loan, he's selling it for an absolute steal. I wasn't truly looking, but the deal kind of fell in my lap.

Everything will be finalized by Wednesday so I'm pretty hyped up about it. I don't mind keeping the '04 GTP, but it's gonna need a little love and a lot of time. I'm much mroe excited to play with the new one and spend time modding it from the information I see here on this site. This makes Pontiac #5 for me, and I'm pretty excited about having one of the last GP's ever made
