looking for ideas on upgrades for a 2008, 3800. like is good idea to upgrade mass airflow? throttle body spacer? plugs? wires? ive seen tips for intake so im good there what headers are you guys running and how much horsepower did you gain from upgrades? any help would be great and thanks in advance.

Hardly any of those do ANYTHING to a 3800.

Click the link in my signature...then ask questions.

Reading is the best mod out there.

No...there is no physical loss in torque if you are talking numbers...it moves the powerband up where these motors lack.

So headers on an N/A car aren't ideal...but won't hurt either IMO since it is better than stock crap.

no. its a myth. the 3800 makes so much torque its not even funny. anyone that says 'oh man i lost low end' they are dumb and dont realize where the power went (up a few hundred rpm).

I don't think you were misinformed...I think you just had the concept of what it did a little off, that's all. You were on the right track.

I really want to see a video of someone with a N/A L36 with headers, preferrably SD headers. A video of them driving of course to see how the power is shifted and overall sound.

headers change the sound?

I literally never noticed.

I had pacesetters on my n/a L36.

T'was fun. Much better than stock. Worth the venture.

If you had catted headers I'd bet 20 bucks you wouldn't notice anything.

The sound difference your getting is from the catless section 99% of the people on here run.

im n/a with a short ram and headers, no cat, stock catback. i felt a little difference in the way the car pulls what u heard above is correct. i feel it pull a few hundred rpms more than before and its not so jumpy from a stop around town, much smoother and a lil better MPGs too....and it sounds goood, not loud, but much better than stock
