sounds like a rod knock. Pull the plugs and see what they look like or just take it back to the dealer and tell them to give you your money back.

or just take it back to the dealer and tell them to give you your money back.

x2 on that. if its anything like nebraska they dont have to and wont. i too got stuck with a MAJOR lemon. $7000 car and $4500 worth of repairs.... so far

talked to the dealer today, hes coming out here to look at it, told my g/f on the phone that it may just be the alternator making that noise....

I was like WHAT! haha well see I suppose..

Sounds like a bad rod knock. Thats way to loud to be lifters making that much noise. Where in wisconsin are you from btw?

It sounds a bit like my spun cam bearing did a few years ago. Rod knock is a possibility, too. Did your engine oil light come on?

Im in LaCrosse, WI,
No lights came on, my g/f said she noticed right before it made the knocking noise she saw the RPM's go up real quick then down, thats all she said happened, ALSO, if I take the oilcap off while the car is running there should be oil spraying correct??
well I did that and I could see any oil just the parts moving...

maybe oil pump went out on the way and the engine blew 40 miles later???
not sure, anyway thanks for the help so far guys.

"SHOULD", but sometimes freak things happen and they just drop to like 5-6 PSI (not triggering the idiot light on the dash).

Dealer drove outhere yesterday with 3 other guys on there way to an auction, they ask me so hey what does it sound like, Im like it sounds like you sold us a blown motor with a spun rod bearing... he says oh really?, and proceedes to start thecar and rev it to red line for about 5 minutes, at which point I say well looks like you just bought the car back doing all that extra damage to it, he then said hed get it towed out of the school where it sits, andthat hes still got the check we wrote him, Havent heard from him since.

I dont have a temperment for that i would have probably parked the car through the lots front doors by now
You could hurt there bussiness though blast them on craigslist call a news station hell call a lawyer and see what they say

Yup...hit up your bank for a stop payment...it'll cost ya but it sure is a LOT nicer to pay around $20 to stop it then fork out all that cash for a car only to get taken back and to lose all that money.

i'd stop payment on that too. that was doctored up to sell, then u bought it and got screwed......bad.
