Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

up to 7.8* KR!!!

ok people, i had been previously using my buddys scanner, which i dont think it was working right cuz it never showed any knock except for once, and it wasn't even over 1*.

I got the aeroforce, off of here, got it all hooked up, went out for a drive, obviously had no knock at normal speeds and throttle, or just gettin on it a touch to pass people or get goin from the light, but when i got on the highway, twice i gave it about 50% throttle at 85, the first time it said 1.4* of knock the second time it said only .8*. not the best, but thats bearable, the real problem is, starting at around 50 the first time, and around 70 the second and third time, and it was constantly dancing between 2-6* kr, that first run it jumped all the way up to 7.8* for a half second or so, right before it shifted out of second at over 90 mph, i dont remember the rpms, but it was probably over 6000, last time i looked at that doin WOT, it shifted out at about 6400ish.(to high), and both the second and third time, it would start at 2-2.3, dance to 3is, the 4ish, and then peak at about 5.8 then shift, and i let off when i got over 100, and obviously it went back to zero.

so here i was thinkin i was all good with no knock, which i obviously have too much of now!! my mods are headers, 104s, 180 t-stat, Short intake, PCM tune(from will), 3.4 pulley, cat delete, mufflers and glasspack. i have a ported case coming from Reptile, a T/b from mini, i will be replacing the LIM gasket, and obviously the UIM, will that case help at all with knock? and what about removing the EGR?. what other things can i do to help keep this down

also, does the AEROFORCE display timing as Ignition Advance? cuz it was sayin i had 25* or more!!!

any help apreciated.

does your sway bar hit your downpipe?

does your exahust hit anything anywhere?

your car should not be calling for 25* of timing when going WOT, check that again.

Are you slamming the pedal down or rolling into it?

sway bar doesnt hit, exhaust doesnt hit anything either, i will have to do some more runs to check that again, that will have to be later, and the first wot run i pretty much just mashed it, the second and third, i mashed but not as hard. lol like a roll mash!! LMAO

ok did a few more runs, paying attention to timing, and i also had it displaying throttle percent as well, (i probably should have documented the KR as well, but i had the lights set to come on if it went over 4* kr, and they never came on, so it stayed under 4 at least) heres what it did:

at idle(not moving)

in reverse it stabilizes at 27, same with putting it in Drive.
Park and Neutral, stabilizes at 22.

accelerating: (my wife was riding along, had her write down what gear, throttle percent, and speed. shoulda done rpms to, but i was doing it quickly, cuz i cant ever remember numbers lol)

in 4th gear, at 50 mph, 5% throttle, basically just to keep speed, timing was anywhere from 30-35ish*.

3rd at 35mph, 5%, around 40ish* timing

2nd at 25, at 24% throttle, it displayed 21* timing

obvisouly when i get on it alittle, it starts to go down, then when i completely let off, it shoots up to around 40ish, then goes down to 25 and stays there while coasting, until i get back on the gas.

i did ONE WOT run, let off when i got to 60 tho, it dropped somewhat quickly to 14* timing, right when it shifted to 2nd, it dropped below 10* for a second, then went back to 14*.

so general sum up, when at light throttle, say less then 10%, just to keep speed. it goes above 30*, usually around 35*, when more then 15%, actually accelerating somewhat, it goes below 20*, (at one point under light throttle, it dropped below 2* while shifting) when i just coast along, not giving any gas, it stays at 25%

also, first time i ever noticed this, i was goin up a slight hill keeping it at 45mph, and it chugged a tiny bit. barely noticed it, but its never happened before. boost gauge said i think like 8 vac, i dont remember what timing was, but it was less the 20% throttle.

i have decided to at least to the modified zzp rockers, just dont know when i can get them. would that and the ported case keep kr lower? and is that timing action i monitored pretty normal?

its a overkill pcm. the second one. first pcm he sent was faulty, but this one feels and does the EXACT same. i will probably have reptile do a tune for me after i get the case and t/b on. ive been told u need to retune for a ported t/b anyway. would i need to retune when i put the 1.9 rockers in as well?

so when everyones talkin about timing, and they just say like "i'm running at 18*" are they talkin about WOT? so that would mean im running 14*

Yes when people talk about timing they are normally talking WOT timing. Yes you should tune for the 1.9 rockers. They move more air in=leaner.

you need to take a log. you cant shout out random numbers from a scan gauge. i need to know what is happening with a bunch of different parameters all at the same time to tell anything.

IPW, LTFT, KR, timing, boost, RPM, and o2 are the main ones. i cant think of anything i care to see right now.

well then!

doesnt help that the buttons dont respond everytime either. btw, boost at full throttle was 8.5, rest of the time it was 5 or less. the two times i gassed it at 80 it jumped to 8.5. what is IpW

injector pulse width. i would highly doubt youre maxing out your injectors, but its nice to see it to make sure. also, if your IPW and o2 is really high and your only running a minimal amount of boost then youre using a ton of fuel to quelch the detonation.

this is why when you tune a car you dial in the fueling, then you dial in the boost (fairly static, but youll end up making more boost when the car is making more power on the same pulley for some reason), then you start low on the timing and work your way up until it starts knocking and back it off a little.

My Overkill did the sam thing got to 7. something at wide open on the highway. Mine will not do a case learn either
