So scanned my 06 gxp today because I keep getting a service vehicle soon warning in the message center.I pulled a U0073 control module communication bus off code.I did a search and am not having much luck. From what I'm seeing its communication issue between tranny and engine.I also pulled C0240 pcm traction control not allowed. If any one has any knowledge in where to go from here,or experience with these codes please let me know.Hoping it's nothing to serious.

Some info here, not sure what to make of it. Has your car experienced any of the symptoms in posy #3?

This guy has a GM and had a bad battery, even though it tested good. he also has an aftermarket remote start and radio.

Thanks J57ltr,Did hear some people saying battery could cause this and fuses as well.Going to look at all that today.Hoping I come across something.Appreciate it

Not a problem, these 04+ cars are a different animal when it comes to some of the electrical issues. They even will pop up with a charging system failure and or battery saver usually a couple of days before the battery dies.

okay, well fuses look good.Ya I tightened up the negative and positive battery terminals my volts are now sitting at 15.10 falling to about 14.6 or so.Compared to 12-13 before. Also got 2 charging system failures while revving engine.Seems to be a delay in throttle response as well, but that could be something different.

15.1 is the high and it will vary between 12.5-15.1, it's still in the normal range. Go for a drive on the highway for about 20 miles and see what it does. It should start to drop after you have been on the freeway for a while. If you were working on the car for a while and you were having some drain from a device like radio or lights it will start out high then eventually fall after a while. It could also be in reconditioning mode where it raises the voltage to that level for a while.

Not real sure why you are getting a Charging System Failure... Is the current sensor on the Negative battery cable there and are all the negative wires going through it? There are 3 on a GTP and I am not sure on a GXP, but I would have to assume it's the same.

This is a normal chart for charging that I logged a while ago, from start up through a few hours of driving. The top is the Control Module voltage and the bottom is the voltage measured at the Diagnostic Port.

I will chk for that sensor on battery. As I figured the service vehicle soon light came back on as well.I had it scanned at dealer where I bought it and he says showing no codes. My buddy who scanned it few weeks back said U0073 was in saved folder. So Im guessing this guy just scanned and pulled nothing, and did'nt look in saved folder. Thanks for your help
