TXL wire necessary?

I'm going to be wiring up some stuff to my new Monte, and for the power leads, I was thinking i should get some TXL wire to do it right, even though it isnt going to be in the engine bay. Is TXL overkill for some short power leads? (powering aux2car, etc)
 


what year of car? what engine? how many watts? if not subs how about more info on "some stuff" as that could be many diff things
 
it's my 05 monte carlo. i have to wire in 12v constant for the ipod2car adapter, but i'm going to wire it in with the aux power outlet that's in the rear of the center console. it won't be drawing many amps, but i'm making a plug in harness to go inline with the stock aux power outlet, so the wiring i add for that has to hold up to what is drawn by anything plugged into the aux outlet. (the aux outlet has it's own 20 amp fuse). at best the harness i am making up is going to be no longer than a foot, and will be inside the center console.

that's nice, but how in the world does that answer my question? who said i wanted an aftermarket stereo? all i asked about was weather or not i should use the TXL wire or just the basic primary wire. Do you even know what TXL wire is??

lmao that is funny as hell... :th_laugh-lol3: ... I clicked on this link cause I was trying to find out what a TXL wire was myself :D
 


Well Toasty it really depends.......it depends on how many amps you want to draw from the outlet. Its small gauge wire, so it you plug in something that draws a far amount of amps, you could run the risk of roasting the wiring and the electrical component you have plugged into it.

But if you go with it? I would select this one.....

10 AWG 19/23 Type TXL Extra-Thin Wall (XLP) Automotive Primary Wire

At least that will afford you a little more protection with a tad bit thicker wire. I could not find any information on just how many amps can run through it, but I am guessing its NOT much.
