Two Problems

Hey all,

I'm new here (first post, too), so hopefully this is the right section for me to post in!

I'm having two issues with my 02 Grand Prix at the moment, I tried doing a bit of searching on the forums before posting, but couldn't seem to find anything.

My first problem is my windshield wipers. They work 100% perfectly when they're on, however, when I turn them off they stay in the vertical position instead of the horizontal position. I've heard I may need the whole windshield wiper motor replaced, but before buying one I wanted to see if any Grand Prix owners had any fixes they knew of that can fix this for me.

My second problem is something that just started today. A few days ago I put a CD in my CD player (still have the stock CD player that comes with it), and it sounded like spurts of static would play through the speakers when playing CDs. I switched to the radio to see if I was still hearing the static, and the radio sounded fine. The static cleared itself up after about 10 minutes of having no CD in there.

Today, the static was back, so I took the CD out and put another CD in 10 minutes later, and I was getting an E20 error which I usually only get when I tried to play burned CDs. I put in three different CDs (not burned) and I was still getting the E20 error.

Any advice/suggestions on my problems? Other than that, I LOVE my car. It's been my first car I've ever owned and I love taking it out on the highway.

Thanks everyone who replies!

first ive never done it in a grand prix but i have taken gm windshield wiper motors apart and had success cleaning them and getting them to work...there is also a pin and set of gears that sometimes come out of alingment...bend the pin toward the gears so they make better contact and sometimes that helps...if not buy a new one....second our radios and all gm radios with cd players are known for their problems...just get an aftermarket
