• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

Two Morimoto projectors one cup...uh...I mean headlight...headlight

Thats a better job than I did...I broke my plastic behind the light, but I repaired it.

If I could do it over again, I would do it like yours, that bottom rubber grommet is important to keep the lights from shaking, but I found another solution to stopping the shake too...In fact...that reminds me, I need to find the other piece to help stop the headlight shake.

Drunkie, is your car an '04? If so, isn't there a different mounting tab or bracket than 05+ models? I know I've seen somewhere on these forums that there are headlight "bounce-fix" kits available from (GM?), (aftermarket?).

Yeah 04s had the plastic clips, I bought the metal clips a long time ago, but I cut the rubber grommet out thats in the bottom left corner. That helps to stop bounce...My bad. I figured out another solution to stop the bounce though

I'm guessing you mean the plastic behind the headlight? If so, this is what I did:

I only cut as much as I needed to fit the projectors because I didn't want to weaken the plastic too much. Granted, it is pretty strong plastic and there is a metal locking tab that bolts the headlight into place but I didn't want to take any chances.

That's exactly what I needed to see. In fact I'm going to save that picture as reference if that's pretty much ideal for this application. Thanks homie. :th_thumbsup-wink:

Got second set of projectors for my quad set up, unfortunately I can't get the D2S's to line up with the H1's so I sent back the D2S's to exchange them for another set of H1's. Don't know why I had to deviate, oh well. Should have some results by next week, hopefully. In the mean time I was creeping the chatbox and saw people talking about doing their own retrofits. Post pics goddamnit.

So I'm gonna paint the reflectors black but what color should I rock with the shrouds? I could rip off Drunkie and paint em red (which would match the car), paint them black or leave em silver. What do you guys think?

I say paint the shrouds black, the paint the cutoff shield red, that way the projector lens looks red.
