ok thanks. I can understand not needing new calipers but as for brake pads i would have thought having a bigger rotor would mean wider brake surface therefore needing new pads. can you explain this to me lol :) thanks

The width of the braking surface of the rotor does not get wider with the larger rotor. The hub part of the rotor is larger to increase the radius of the whole braking surface. Hope that helps.
