tweeters.

Hey,

has anyone found an aftermarket tweeter that fits nicely inplace of the stock ones? I have an 06 GP base. And at one point want to replace everything, But i try to keep my stuff clean.

I have two A/D/S 312RS subs, a 8CH A/D/S amp and a 4CH A/D/S amp I will be using, But i need to pick out what mids\tweeters and headunit I want to use.

Also , How do you keep onstar and the chimes with an aftermarket deck?

Get the proper harness.

Go search the internet for car speakers.

A/D/S or Hybrid Audio Technologies probably makes something that'll work.

I looked at crutchfield and see there is a Metra databus adapter. But I doubt this would work If I am using preouts to my amps only and not using any amplifiers in the headunit?

It looks to me like the adapter feeds sound to your speakers directly, or am i looking at this completely wrong.

Since a/d/s/ isn't around anymore you'll have to find a similar sound. Many have pointed older a/d/s/ fans to Dynaudio. However, with your equipment it sounds like you might be looking for an active setup?

The newer 346is lack the "warm" sound the older 320 series maintained from a/d/s/. I believe there's a nice SB Acoustics dimple ring radiator on madi sounds for about $50 that gets very good reviews. There's also an old employee from a/d/s/ that has attempted to remake the px tweeter from warehouse parts. He sells them on ebay. He sells the 346is/HCCA mids too if you're interested. $250 for the set. Supposedly the px tweeter is similar to the one found in the 320 series.

Yes, I will be doing an active setup. i'll have to find some good components and a good head unit, If eclipse head units are still what they were 8 years ago I'll still go with them.

will tweeters like the older a/d/s ones fit behind the grill on the door panel? Or would i have to mod it. I try to keep things "looking" as stock as possible when i do an install.

The 346is tweeters work in the 7th gen vehicles. Check out my build logs to see. I did have to trim a bit but all that does is keep me from placing original stock tweeters back in place. The stock grills can still be put back once the speakers are uninstalled.

I understand you want to keep the looks fairly stock, but I would make a new fiberglass enclosure on the triangle plastic or just get used ones and save the originalls for if u sell it.

I don't have any pics from some of the older vehicles i did this on but it is fairly easy and you can place the focal point much better than stock
