Twc Internet Extreme modem router suggestion

Hey wondering if anyone has a kick-ass modem / router for 30/5 service.
The supplied unit they gave me sucks. It drops all the time , I need to unplug it and plug it back in. Even the wired connection to it drops while playing PS3.
The range sucks too. It's horrible. I have to use boosters that plugs into my outlet out side to carry the signal to the back deck and garage area.

Maybe something I can get from Amazon or best buy.

DO NOT I repeat DO NOT get an all in one unit they are all trash and will give you the same issues you are having now. Get a separate modem and router.

As far as routers go just look for something AC, unless you do a lot of file transfers over WIFI and can actually use the speed, the expensive ones are not worth it. There are a lot of good options right around the $100 range that you should look at.

That nighthawk router looks badass. I want to call twc and see if they would just give me a new modem and use that router. But I like the idea of using my own equipment like I was before. It wasn't until I went to the "extreme" package , that they told me I needed to use their stuff (I wasn't home for the instsll) that everything turned to s hit
 


I think that modem came up as a "recommended with" when I viewed the nighthawk router on Amazon
i am aware they are 2 different pieces of equipment. I Was saying it when they gave me an all in one unit that everything turned to s hit. I want to go back to owning my own equipment again and looking for what's good.

I bookmarked netgear nighthawk ac1900 r7000 for $139 until payday. Well fck me I go there and its unavailable. Now it's $200+

Did you know of any good places to look?
 


$250 and I'm finally free of all Time Warner's ****astic ****gasm of equipment.
Got the CM500 modem and the Night Hawk ac1900 combo.

And whatttya know.
I did speed tests before and after

I was losing an entire package worth of data worth $39.99 according to TW's internet plans (15 down and 5 up for 39.99)

I was losing on average over the last 6 months 15-20 Mbps down and 5-6 Mbps up.

Now im not only hitting my paid for rate but I'm exceeding it by about 6-7 on the download end and 1-2 on the upload.
This router flat out kicks ass when it comes the configuration settings.
No more resetting it daily. No more drops from online game play. All my wireless devices work outside my house.

That is a nice one.... I'm loving the router home page. I monitor everything from my iPhone. They made the user interface really nice and easy to use
