turns over fires back fires then wont start

i am currently looking at a 2000 grand prix GT1 3.8L for 300 bucks it wont start it turns over fires then back fires. anyone have a idea whats wrong
 


i have no idea i havent ven seen the car yet.i just know it back fires and wont start my Grand am dose that if i let it sit to long. but if i let it sit a hour or 2 after i try to start it will start right up. but thats a 2.4l GA i dont really wanna waste 300 bucks on this GP if its not worth buying
 
Sounds like a timing issue. Hell for that much I would buy it and just swap another engine in it if the body is in good shape.
 


check all 6 plug wires and make sure theyre connected to the right cylinders. then check all 6 injectors and make sure each one is firing
