• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

Turn Up Line Pressure or Shift Kit???

I don't have a scanner that can read those and the shops around here charge a pretty penny ($100) to do this. What I find odd is that some days this transmission shifts strong and then other days it doesn't with no rhyme or reason.

As far as I know, any scanner will read them, they are P codes, just like the engine. It's the C codes that won't be recognized. Have you tried resetting TAPS? Disconnect the battery overnight.

I've read that too, does increased line pressure assist with this? I know its not a permanent fix. But if I can get more time out of this tranny before rebuilding it that would be great.

It's possible it's your forward apply band, too. When you put it in manual 1st it applies another band, and that's why it doesn't slip. I'm not 100% sure that Tap Shift applies that manual 1st band, but I think it does.
You mean input clutch piston. Forward apply band causes no movement in drive or manual 3.

All of those codes say stored in the memory, so wouldn't I technically be able to hook up my scanner at any time to grab those codes?

I guess I'll see if I can save up and get a hold of an HP Tuners and crank the line pressure up. I guess till then I'll drive in TAPShift to save the cluthes lol.

No need for HPT, just do a mail order tune, on an otherwise stock car it'll do wonders. Save yourself a LOT of money.

There'd be a core charge, but you can ship your stock one back after you get the tuned PCM. IF Reptile starts doing it, then he'd probably just send you a PCM tuned and you keep your old one. I'm not speaking for him or anything, that's just how he handles the 98-02 stuff.

Technically yes, but it normally doesn't impact how the car runs all that much. It mainly smooths out the idle. I've had my tune for months and I'm still waiting on my friend to let me use his scan tool to do a learn, lol.
