Turn the key and everything dies

So I've got a 98 Grand Prix GTP and when we go to start the car it does all the self checks then when we go for the actual turn over is where the problem starts. It maybe gets a crank going then all the electronics just die on us and we need to disconnect the battery and reconnect just to get the key out. So we're thinking it's either the battery or the terminals or the cables somewhere just any tips?
Thanks in advance!

Yep, sounds like a loose connection somewhere, or a bad ground. Clean the battey terminals and cables and make sure they are tight when you reinstall them.

All you need is 1.21 Gigawatts and you're good to go!

Well quick update I got it to start pass emissions and get my stickers and everything but now we are back at square one with the same issue. Turn the key clicks everything goes out and we need to fiddle with the battery terminals and it's a new battery, an interstate megatron. Somewhat fitting if I had to pick a side I'd say Grand Prix's are Decepticons. So maybe it's the leads? Or the wiring harness, which just thinking about that makes me shudder.
