Turn signal problem....

Ok so i have a bit of a strange problem. When my lights are off, both turn signals work fine, but as soon a i turn my headlights on, my passenger side turn signal will blink like it has a blown bulb. Should probably mention that they are projectors.

Any ideas from the gurus here at gpf?? Thanks in advance.

Check the grounds. IIRC they are shared and that is the type of behavior you'll get one a bulb isn't grounded. By turning the lgihts on there's another variable in teh loop and it might be using the other element of the bulb to ground the parking circuit.

As soon as i return to my vehicle's location i shall check the grounds. Thank you :)

Aren't you gonna ask where said grounds are located?

I know there's a front one up by teh drivers headlight. Not sure about rear ones.

That would be a good start to know what grounds I'm lookin for. Lol. Only reason it got left behind today is because I'm at the in laws house...my wife's mom passed and she showed up at 5am to get me....i was half asleep....wrecked one car by falling asleep at the wheel...damn sure not gonna lose this one the same way:D

OK so update on the turn signal issue... It is specifically related to my right rear tail light....the speed at which it blinks varies depending upon how I move the wire for the led part.....unplugged led part and replaced with reg bulb to test theory...worked fine....

The problem exists between the steering wheel and seat. :th_thumbsup-wink: You put an LED into a socket that requires a bulb with a certain load to keep the flasher module working properly. If you want to use an LED in the lights, you need to change to the er uh.,.EP28 or EP29, whichever fits properly in our flasher socket.

Lol:-D
The LEDs came on the car when I bought it. Wouldn't that affect both sides since they both hook up the same? The drivers side turn signals work fine with the lights on.. Just the passenger side goes haywire.

Where was the one bulb located? You made it sound like you found only one LED

My apologies sir....the circuit board from the led tails plugs in like a regular bulb....I unplugged the led circuit board from the car and plugged in a regular bulb....and hyper flash was no more. I'll see if I can find a pic of said connector...

No need.. I understood what you said. Connector has no issue. See LED bulbs don't have the same resistance as a standard bulb. Therefore the flasher expects when it pulses that there will be a hold back by the bulb...since the LED doesn't do that..you get a faster pulse..

Oh OK.....so if I get one of these ep28 or ep29 items....it should correct it? If the wire is hit just right/moved a certain way....the whole led section goes out...I must get to work now...I will keep an eye on this thread. Thanks for all you do bill :)
